Senator Grant Hauschild Expresses Disappointment over Blocked Bonding Bill

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Senator Grant Hauschild (DFL — Hermantown) said today that he was disappointed that Senate Republicans rejected a $1.5 billion bonding bill that would have funded job-creating public works and infrastructure projects across Minnesota. The bill failed to meet the supermajority of 41 votes necessary to pass, with DFL Senators voting yes and all Republican Senators voting no.

Senator Grant Hauschild Secures Additional $7.8 million for Senate District 3 Projects in Bonding Bill

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — In Senate Finance Committee action Friday, an additional $7.8 million was secured for capital investment needs in Senate District 3 thanks to the efforts of Senator Grant Hauschild (DFL-Hermantown), bringing the total amount of Northeast Minnesota funding included in the proposed Senate bonding bill to approximately $57.11 million. 

Senator Grant Hauschild’s Proposal to Extend UI Benefits for Northshore Miners Passes Minnesota Senate

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – On Thursday, the Minnesota Senate passed SF 40 to extend unemployment insurance benefits for laid-off workers at Northshore Mining. The bipartisan bill was chief authored by Sen. Grant Hauschild (DFL – Hermantown) and co-authored by Majority Leader Kari Dziedzic (DFL – Minneapolis), Sen. Rob Farnsworth (R – Hibbing), Sen. Justin Eichorn (R – Grand Rapids), and Sen. Jen McEwen (DFL – Duluth). Following floor debate on the legislation, the Senate passed the bill by a vote of 56 yeas to 10 nays.
