Senator Tou Xiong Responds to Bloomberg Documentary Featuring Minnesota PFAS Ban

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – On November 9, Bloomberg Investigates released the documentary – The Poison in Us All, which features compelling accounts of the harmful impacts per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS), also known as “forever chemicals,” have on our bodies and the environment. The documentary details the 2023 passage of “Amara’s Law”, in which the DFL Majority acted to protect our communities against these toxic substances. In the first two weeks since its release, the documentary has been viewed more than three million times.

Senator Mary Kunesh Elected Chair of National Caucus of Native American State Legislators

ST. PAUL, Minn. — On Nov. 10, Senator Mary Kunesh (DFL-New Brighton) was elected by her peers to serve as chair of the National Caucus of Native American State Legislators during a NCNASL business meeting held in Denver, Colorado.

The NCNASL consists of 89 members from 21 states. As chair, Senator Kunesh will act as an advisory body for the National Conference of State Legislatures and the National Congress of American Indians on issues that affect Native populations.

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Today, Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman (DFL – Brooklyn Park) and Senate Majority Leader Kari Dziedzic (DFL – Minneapolis) announced the formation of a new Joint Task Force on Emergency Medical Services. The panel will be charged with examining new ways the Legislature can strengthen the lifesaving services EMS personnel provide in communities across the state.
