Senator Steve Cwodzinski Successfully Passes Education Policy Omnibus Bill to Uplift Students, Support Teachers, and Revitalize Schools, to Senate Floor

ST. PAUL, Minn. — On Wednesday, Senator Steve Cwodzinski (DFL-Eden Prairie) presented his education omnibus bill (SF 1311) to the Education Policy Committee. The bill is a combination of the Minnesota Department of Education’s proposed policy changes along with several provisions heard as standalone bills in the Education Policy Committee before being added to the omnibus bill.

PAUL, Minn. — On Tuesday, the chief authors of the House and Senate Increase Teachers of Color Act bills spoke out on the economic, cultural, and emotional importance of providing robust support for new and current teachers of color in Minnesota schools. Senator Rob Kupec’s Grain Indemnity Bill Heard and Passed in Agriculture, Broadband, and Rural Development Committee

ST. PAUL, Minn. — On Monday, Senator Rob Kupec’s (DFL-Moorhead) Grain Indemnity Bill was heard and passed in the Agriculture Committee. This bill would appropriate $15 million to the Minnesota Department of Agriculture for the establishment of a rainy-day fund for farmers if a grain elevator failure were to occur. House and Senate consider proposed new Department of Children, Youth, and Families

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Today, in simultaneous hearings, the House Children and Families Committee and Senate Health and Human Services Committee considered legislation proposed by the Walz-Flanagan Administration and authored by committee chairs Rep. Dave Pinto (DFL-Saint Paul) and Senator Melissa Wiklund (DFL-Bloomington) to establish a new state agency, the Department of Children, Youth, and Families.
