PAUL, Minn. — On Thursday, the Senate Education Finance Committee passed its education finance omnibus bill (SF 2684), securing $2.2 billion in funding for Minnesota schools to continue their work educating and empowering students in every ZIP code. Senator Steve Cwodzinski Presents Bill to Expand Mental Health Support for Law Enforcement

ST. PAUL, Minn. — On Wednesday, Senator Steve Cwodzinski (DFL-Eden Prairie) presented a bill that would help provide comprehensive mental health support to law enforcement officers. SF 1087 would fund a grant to develop a training program for licensed counselors to help them understand the culture and nuances of law enforcement work and provide treatment for officers in distress. Senator Cwodzinski testified in support of the bill alongside current and former law enforcement.

ST. PAUL, Minn. — On Wednesday, Senator Steve Cwodzinski (DFL-Eden Prairie) presented his education omnibus bill (SF 1311) to the Education Policy Committee. The bill is a combination of the Minnesota Department of Education’s proposed policy changes along with several provisions heard as standalone bills in the Education Policy Committee before being added to the omnibus bill.
